Ordinance OTR 2 Β· RS 822.222
What the ordinance is, who it applies to, and how to use this study tool.
OTR 2 is the Ordinance of 6 May 1981 on the working and rest time of professional drivers of light vehicles used for passenger transport and of heavy passenger cars (RS 822.222). It sets out how long these drivers may work and drive, the breaks and rest they must take, and the controls (tachograph, work record book, register) that make the rules verifiable.
It is the lighter counterpart of OTR 1 (RS 822.221), which governs heavier goods and passenger transport. This trainer is based on the version in force on 1 February 2019, using only the main enacting text.
It applies to professional drivers of light motor cars, heavy passenger cars, coaches with no more than 16 seats besides the driver's seat, and motor tricycles and quadricycles, when used to carry passengers for economic profit. It does not apply, for example, to ambulances, vehicles limited to 30 km/h, or certain short trips of 50 km or less.
